Programme Manager
I managed the national U.Dance programme which includes the annual national youth dance festival and an ongoing support scheme which aims to increase the number if dance prformance opportunities for children and young people. I also managed YDE Young Creatives, an annually delivered project which develops the skills and techniques of young choreographers. This project was delivered in partnership with Royal Opera House, The Royal Ballet School, Rambert and ADAD.I've delivered five national festivals, two in London, one in Leeds, one in Nottingham and most recently U.Dance 2015 in Plymouth. U.Dance 2012 for example, was led by me at Youth Dance England in partnership with a range of other UK partners. I also set-up and coordinated the U.Dance Ensemble project in collaboration with YDance (Scottish Youth Dance), National Youth Dance Wales and DU Dance (Northern Ireland). The U.Dance Ensemble was the UK wide Youth Dance Company led by its Artistic Director Hofesh Shechter, which premiered at Southbank Centre's Queen Elizabeth Hall in July 2012.
Regional Youth Dance Coordinator (East)
Managed the delivery of the Dance Links and Next Steps programmes on behalf of Youth Dance England as one of their nine Regional Youth Dance Coordinators. This included carrying out an audit of dance provision in the region and writing the Regional Development Plan (2008-2011).
