Growing up, I was always a curious leader. My curiosity for leadership was conceived when I joined the Boy Scouts of America, in 2005, where I eventually attained the rank of Eagle Scout in 2009, at the age of 15. That experience enabled me to give back to my community through many ways, including: the Community Coalition for Haiti, Scouting for Food, our annual school supply drive, and my Eagle Project in which I worked with the Appalachian Trail Club to refurbish, and maintain trails as well as maintenance checkpoints. While in high school, I was apart of the National Honor Society as well as the National Hispanic Honor Society. At that time I developed an interest in computer science, while taking AP Computer Science. This interest developed into a passion for information technology. I attended Virginia Tech where my passion for creating solutions through technology lead me to major in Business Information Technology (BIT) with a concentration on ERP systems, Operations and Supply Chain Management. While majoring in BIT at VT, I was apart of the Dean's list in 2014-2017. While attending VT, I held many jobs in order to be able to financially support myself. Among the most notable are my jobs as Assistant Head Swim Coach for my childhood swim team, Calzone Delivery driver for DP Dough, and Risk Assurance Intern with PwC. Upon graduating from VT, I was offered full time employment with PwC as a Risk Assurance (now Digital Assurance and Transparency) Associate, where I grew my skills as an IT auditor through on the job experience as well as training/certifications external to the Firm. During this time I obtained my CISA certification after passing the exam and satisfying the learning/experience requirements. I have also achieved the Business Professional and Technical Professional accreditations from AWS, as well as the Solutions Architect Associate Certification (May 2020). My work experience at PwC has included: 4 years of External Audit experience across many industries but primarily in Financial Services, 2 years of experience in Risk & Regulatory compliance work as a contractor for one of the largest technology companies in the world, 3 years of experience in working on PwC's Oracle Cloud team assisting in Pre-Implementation assessments and Post-Implementation audit support assisting the PwC External Audit and Core Audit teams with the complexities of security and configurations within Oracle. I am always looking for more avenues by which I can learn new skills, develop old skills, and expand my network.
