In my early pursuit of higher education, I learned how to navigate computers and Microsoft Office applications for administrative work. I acquired a typing speed of 50+ wpm upon completion of my certificate program. Following this training, I held various office jobs which helped me to see the inner workings of company cultures. Tasks included communicating with assigned office branches to process customer claims, maintaining accurate database information and handling of shipping / receiving records. I made use of computer skills including Word, Excel and Outlook to complete daily work. Working on The Loquitur at Cabrini College allowed me to gain a wealth of communication skills. These included content management systems such as WordPress for publishing news articles. I continue using WordPress for personal blogging as well. Along with The Loquitur, I previously wrote articles for The Communitarian at Delaware County Community College and The Quad at West Chester University of Pennsylvania. Working on a news publication strengthened my attention to detail, which I can apply to administrative and communication careers.My interests include news writing, photojournalism, magazine editing, multimedia, creative writing, publishing, marketing and event planning. I would also like to pursue travel photography and travel writing. I hope to use my communication skills toward various causes, whether through employment or volunteering.In August 2014, I attended a business seminar in Dublin, Ireland with a group of staff and other students from Rosemont College. Due to my interests in travel, photography and writing, it was a great way to expand my knowledge of business on a global level.
