• Constructed patient-specific 3D finite element heart models through medical imagingsegmentation (MeVisLab) and mesh generation (Gmsh or Hypermesh)• Conducted nonlinear static and dynamic simulation of heart pumping through finite elementdiscretization and linearization using ABAQUS or ANSYS• Collaborated with research scientists in Simula Research Laboratory (Norway) andNational Heart Center (Singapore) to develop C++ finite element code for medical imageanalysis (MRI) and evaluation of 3D ventricular strains for PAH patients and normal controls• Developed microstructure-based finite element code (written in C++ and Python) using open-source FE library (FEniCS) to investigate structure-function relationships in complex composite biomaterials and study patterns of stress and strain in various loading conditions• Achieved nonlinear constrained optimization for model parameter estimation and materialcharacterization using GlobalSearch algorithm (MATLAB)• Accelerated finite element simulations in high performance clusters using MPI (domaindecomposition) and SLURM Workload manager• Calibrated and validated finite element model predictions as well as conducted parameteruncertainty quantification
