PGxPharmD is short for Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) and a scientific field called Pharmacogenomics (PGx). With a simple swab of the cheek or a small blood or saliva sample, we can see little parts of your DNA that are responsible for determining how you metabolize (or process) medications. Everyone processes medications differently; some slower, some faster. Sometimes people barely metabolize certain medications at all.Services are provided by your experienced Doctor of Pharmacy, not just a paper report. You’ll receive a comprehensive report designed with your health and goals in mind. Whether through a single meeting or multiple sessions, we always deliver the highest quality care. In addition, we work alongside your other healthcare professionals to achieve the best care possible.We use your DNA and our medication therapy management expertise to reduce side effects, eliminate medication trial and error, and decrease your overall risk. Our program uses pharmacogenomics, which are the genetics related to how your body will respond to a drug, and also predictive genetics, your genetic benefits and risks regarding diseases and health. CPESN of Indiana focuses on patients and provide enhanced services to improve healthcare outcomes and decrease total healthcare costs. In addition, a recent grant approval from the Community Pharmacy Foundation has provided Team Indiana with the means to transform pharmacies from a production filling model to an appointment-base model with clinical focus. Voces Novae is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization. I serve as vice president of the board within the organization. Recently served as board president.Louisville’s own Voces Novae is a unique, semi-professional choral ensemble conducted by our new Artistic Director, Angela Vaughn Hampton. Now in its 29th season, the ensemble was founded in 1993 by Frank A. Heller, III, and is composed of selectively auditioned singers from the Louisville and Southern Indiana metropolitan area. The Latin phrase voces novae (“new voices”) reflects its mission and vision:A community uplifting the human spirit by performing the finest in choral literature. We are dedicated to awakening the highest musical artistry, providing a camaraderie that nurtures our members’ musical and personal development, and delivering a gift to our audience that evokes the spirit with which we embrace our music.

Community-based pharmacy is evolving from a place of product distribution into a healthcare destination.Pharmacists who spend time filling prescriptions see their role shifting to be more focused on the patient, not the product. Attention will no longer be primarily dispensing, but providing convenient clinical care. As second in command of Westmoreland Pharmacy, I help to define the strategic vision for our 3-chain retail pharmacy, including planning for a potential new clinical services division. As VP of Westmoreland Pharmacy, I am the face of the company to the employees. I’m hands-on with the other pharmacy managers and technicians, which ‘keeps me in the trenches’ and connected to the business. This connection means I know what is happening in the business and can generate recommendations for changes necessary to maximize growth and profits.As Vice President, I have many varied responsibilities. My skill set has been built through years of education and experience. I have a total of 4 degrees, Bachelor of the Arts (BA), Master of Science in Managing Information Technology (MSMIT), Master of Business Administration (MBA), and Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD). I have spent a total of 17 years in the pharmacy and I have served as Westmoreland’s VP since 2006. In addition, I have managed a pharmacy full-time since 2011, including building 2 locations from the ground up. I am constantly monitoring competition to keep up to date with the overall economic landscape. This helps me to advance the company by seizing relevant opportunities. It is also part of my job to evaluate implemented programs and the whole company to improve and maximize successful programs and discontinue poor performing programs when necessary. Compliance with applicable regulations must also fall to me. Pharmacy has many rules and my job is to make sure not only my store in in compliance, but the company is compliant as well. Ultimately, business is business and we must maintain profitability. Therefore, profitability is in my purview as well.
