I am a recent graduate of Oberlin College with a degree in Psychology and Comparative American Studies, with a specialized focus on Identity and Diversity. My passion for educating, leading, supporting, and serving children and families of all ages and abilities has been a lifelong calling. Over the years, I've honed my skills and grown in confidence while working with children who possess a wide spectrum of intellectual and developmental abilities. These experiences have not only cultivated qualities like compassion, patience, and creativity within me but have also emphasized the paramount importance of establishing a foundation of trust and effective communication with the children and families I engage with. I am unwavering in my commitment to fostering the development of children's learning, language, behavior, and social skills, drawing inspiration from the sheer joy and accomplishment each child experiences as they reach new milestones. My specific areas of interest in Psychology include conceptual development and social cognition in children, ethnic minority mental health, refugee and immigrant mothers’ parenting experiences including stigma surrounding maternal mental health, and child development and well-being in the midst of changing sociocultural contexts.
