From the time I was in middle school, my mom always told me that I would be a great accountant. At first, I didn't think anything of it because I had no idea what an accountant was. Then, as I got older, I was a little bit insulted because isn't it a known fact that accountants are boring?! But then, I took my first accounting course in college and it all fell into place.I immediately declared accounting as my major and told my mom she was right all along! I love the attention to detail that accounting requires. I love solving the little puzzles that come along with something being out of balance. More importantly, I love the idea of being able to help other people. Throughout my studies, I realized that I would like to pursue a career in tax accounting. While many people find taxes to be overwhelming, I find them to be fascinating. I hope that throughout my career, I am able to utilize my passion for accounting and tax law to make other people's lives a little bit easier.I graduated from URI in May of 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. I am now studying to become a CPA while working full time at IDC, Inc. as a corporate accountant. While this has been a long process, I am constantly reminded that I chose the right path because I truly love what I do.
