Action Greensboro, together with the Chamber of Commerce, serves as the city’s primary economic and community development group. Formed in 2001, Action Greensboro is comprised of seven local charitable foundations. In collaboration with business, higher education, and municipal government, Action Greensboro works to strengthen Greensboro's economy and ensure the continuation of its excellent quality of life. • Direct and manage projects of Action Greensboro including talent and workforce development, K-20 education, urban livability, advocacy campaigns and city marketing efforts. • Serve as primary liaison to the Action Greensboro Operating Group that includes leadership from the six local foundations.

Young Smart and Local is a network of more than 50 cities working to build diverse young talent through college student engagement, inclusion and retention. Launching with a national conference in Philadelphia in April 2019, the learning network includes more than 600 professionals in economic development, city government, higher education and business. Co-founded with Deborah Diamond, President of Campus Philly, Young Smart and Local produces annual conferences on building equitable, inclusive and growing talent pipelines in cities.
