1. Started as a telecommunications technician specializing in open wire carrier systems (training and work).2. Worked at Grinaker Electronics as a Quality Assurance technician and managed the instrument calibration department where we repaired and calibrated test equipment such as signal generator, spectrum analyzers, volt meters, etc.3. Employed by SIEMENS Ltd to plan and set up a certified calibration laboratory. Also served on an advisory committee to the National Physical Research Laboratory at the CSIR on national standards for calibration of electronic measuring equipment.4. Moved into the field of technical writing in 1985 and have been working in that field ever since. I have written help files and user manuals, development specifications, etc. for computer software (GRINTECH EWATION) and mining machinery (FERMEL (Pty) Ltd. I have a good working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Robo-Help, Visio, Adobe Acrobat Pro, etc.5. I am still working as a technical writer as this is my passion, and will continue to do so for as long as I can.
