Assist the Business Unit with effective planning in the form of an annual budget which is regularly updated with a forecast. Liaise with the BU stakeholders to provide accurate, consolidated budgets and forecasts for the BU. Budget, forecast and Prior Year variances are analysed and recommendations are made to correct or improve [BU] profitability. Assist the Business Unit with in-depth analysis which is performed on key financial risk / opportunity areas in the business. The financial levers are understood and communicated to the business together with clear recommendations. Identify cost management opportunities – processes or expenses - which are not ensuring a sound return for shareholders and make recommendations on how these should be dealt with. Assist the Business Unit with reviewing business initiatives to ensure that they meet the required returns. Support is provided to the BU to present these cases to the Investment Committee. Implementation is reviewed to ensure delivery of benefits. Positive feedback from Business Unit and their Leadership Team that there has been an effective contribution to [BU] financial performance. Play an effective role in the Finance team to ensure the combined delivery of the Finance Strategy.

Duties performed: Compile monthly financial reports that meet the needs of the monthly Group finance pack (e.g. Segmentals/Gross profit reports) in line with the month-end time table. Provide the Profit Financial Manager with accurate monthly segmental reports and other key reports (e.g. margin analyses, waste by reason code, etc) to enable the correct interpretation of financial performance and variance analyses. Accurate and timeous compilation of management information reports (decision support packs). Apply constant innovation in the process of report production - making information easier to produce, greater accuracy and quicker delivery. Provide key weekly performance reports covering the Selling and Product environments. Produce and disseminate cost centre by owner reports. Apply the principle of feeding quality information to the business as opposed to on request. Assist the business with standard templates in the budgeting and forecasting process. Play an effective role in the Finance team to ensure the combined delivery of the Finance strategy
