Managing $200M business and 60+ suppliers for Consumer Electronics, categories include Computer Accessories, PC Cables, A/V Cables, A/V Accessories, and Batteries. Focusing on extensive new product developments to grow Amazon Hardlines Private Brand business (AmazonBasics) in global marketplaces (NA, EU, IN, and JP).

- Promoted to manage a team of four direct reports for wider scope of Home categories (Bathroom Accessories, Domestic Housewares, Home Décor, Candles, and Clocks), representing $50M FOB business, 40+ supplier, and 1000+ SKUs for ASDA.- Conducted market intelligence by analysing competitors’ product offers; discussed category strategy with buying managers and aligned sourcing strategy accordingly. We analysed extensive data, and categorised opportunities to 6 major pillars– raw material based negotiation, sourcing for lower cost, supplier optimisation and consolidation, global product leverage, strategic supplier commitment, and product reengineering.

- Shaped and managed new supplier sourcing development processes, focused on competitive biddings, RFx, and e-sourcing to support all the business categories (carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, ceramic, and plastic).- Piloted and promoted comprehensive value chain analysis (cost breakdown of materials, production process, energy, labour, and overhead/profit) during quotation process, provided RFQ feedback and suggestions to business team, and facilitated negotiations with suppliers to achieve highest quality at the lowest cost.- Hands-on sourcing experience in injection plastic products, independently led mapping projects of kitchen knives and gadgets; successfully developed 3 suppliers for the business teams.- Extended to provide market research and issued industry analysis reports internally: monthly trends of raw material index on carbon steel.

- 3 years solid experience of footwear supply chain management; supply and demand planning, inventory management, and order fulfillment for over 3500 Walmart stores in US. Achieved $1.6 billion sales in 2010, exceeding target by 6%.- Excellent data analytical skill on forecast, sales, and total pipeline inventory. Identify business opportunities and provide the best business solutions for achieving sales maximization while inventory cost is minimized.- Set up ordering strategy and supervise a team of 3 analysts to collaborate with all supply chain stakeholders. Purpose: address the company’s long-term problems of low productivity and long lead time.Responsibilities: observe factory environment/layout, understand products, analyze production sequences, identify information flows and material flows, and interview machine operators, etc.Achievements- Applied lean manufacturing tools and techniques, such as, 5S, the seven wastes, Just-In-Time, one-piece flow, pull system, visual management.- Proposed four alternative product designs, solutions for process improvement, a new “L” shaped factory layout, documentation of Bill of Materials (BOM).- The company’s manufacturing efficiency have been improved significantly for the productivity has been increased at least 25% and the six weeks long lead time has been shortened to four weeks.
