Extroverted, empathetic, servant-hearted.I have always had a passion to come alongside others on their life's journey. Whether their destination is clear or obscure, it brings me joy to cheer people on and help them reach (or define) their goals. Sometimes it requires little more than listening and being present with them as they share their stories and other times it requires facing seemingly mountainous obstacles together head-on.Recently living in the western hemisphere's largest city is analogous of my own professional pilgrimage. Consider the map of a metropolitan subway system: a series of zig-zagging, colorful lines going in a head-spinning amount of directions. Some destinations are pretty straightforward while others require one or more transfers. And although each line is different, they often intersect. I have gone from motivating a client to move from a shelter into housing, to getting teenage girls to exercise for 30 minutes instead of binge-watching their favorite K-dramas on Netflix, to speaking with street prostitutes about their dreams for the future whilst painting our nails.As you can see, essentially any role that brings together my inherent characteristics and love for people is a huge win in my book.
