I'm about to turn 25. There is pressure to come back to Geneva. Friends and family members of my age are getting jobs and trying to convince me to move back, start a real life. Real life meant making money, buying a house, getting settled. But I am nowhere near these considerations. I want to live, live the life I will never regret and travel the world, the way you do when you don't have anything. So on to the next program! A French government program is offering management positions to junior professionals, around the globe. The trick is, if you get selected, you can be sent almost anywhere. But what it meant was in the middle of nowehere.Lucky me, I got Casablabca, Morrocco. That's what I though for about 24 horus, until I got a phone call telling me a bomb had just exploded near the place I'd work in a couple of weeks... Finally nothing tragic happened while I was stationned there but it was probably the craziest experience I have ever had. After 10 years baby-sitting, tutoring, cooking hamburgers, serving pizzas, cleaning offices, filling shelves, tagging sportwear and even home-parties selling... while earning a high school diploma and 2 masters degrees with awards, I finally get to teach! This is it: my first class. I am handed the Freshmen. Two Introduction levels and the oral and writing classes with full control over curriculum, content, material and pedagogy. Cherry on the cake, I become Head of the French club, planning, organizing and animating the sessions. (The birth of The Language Practice right here...)I love it. The freedom, the energy of the classroom, the university students' dreams and hope they will succeed and change the world. I want to to change the world too. So I do it, by changing theirs first.Right then and there, I knew I had made the right choice.
