Born in 1987 sustainable fashion designer Cecilia Rinaldi was born in Modena Italy, she graduated in Fashion Design at Accademia Italiana Florence and University of Wales obtaining a subsequent specialization at ESMOD International University of Art for Fashion in Berlin. After two years living in the United States where she studied, traveled and continued working in the fashion system, she decided to come back to Italy, facing the crisis with the desire to pursue her own path with her fashion brand cecilia_rinaldi. Cecilia Rinaldi, a name dedicated to critical and sustainable fashion, is a stream of cultural anthropology research and tailoring based on handmade, on high craftsmanship as Italian excellence and on environmental, social and cultural sustainability. For this purpose Cecilia Rinaldi uses only natural fibers, organic fabrics and regenerated materials certified by Gots, Icea, Fairtrade such as Hemp, Nettle, Burette Pure Silks, Organic Cotton, Virgin Wool, Eco Nylon. The Italian vibe is combined with an oriental deconstructed shape to create a sophisticated contemporary attitude, a perfect balance of pret-a-porter and haute couture. Cecilia Rinaldi pursues the concept of Slow Fashion working fabrics of which is concerned to know origins, methods of cultivation and processing of the raw materials that are environmentally friendly and which respect the health and rights of workers, placing at the same time focus on the aesthetic in the full respect of the Italian heritage. She strongly follows this concept where designers, producers and consumers have a common vision: high quality, social and environmental ethic combined with beauty and longevity of the product. In addition to growing her brand with operative headquarter at Vecchio Conventino in Florence, today Cecilia is working with several foreign and local sustainable projects and companies. She is also an academic coordinator of Fashion Design department, professor for the Bachelor and Master of Arts of Fashion Design at Accademia Italiana Florence and Bologna, Schola Academy, ISI Florence and University of Bologna.
