DeafBlind Ontario Services supports people who are deafblind, as well as people who are Deaf, hard of hearing and non-verbal with a developmental disability. As a Senior Communications Coordinator, I led media strategy and external communications while guiding junior team members. I developed and maintained close relationships with media outlets across Ontario to raise awareness about deafblindness and maximize brand outreach.

CPSA is the regulator for physicians and physician assistants (PAs) in Alberta. Having been around for over 100 years, and through the many changes that come with time, CPSA's priority has remained the same: to protect Albertans by guiding the medical profession. I led communications for Council and Governance, Standard of Practice, Physician Health Monitoring Program, Annual Renewal and physician commendation program. With the intention of supporting initiatives that can bring direct benefits to Albertans' health and wellness, I strategized communications for CPSA's first grant--CPSA Healthier Albertan Grant, which led to hundreds of high-quality and diverse applications from across the province.

Founded in 1990, Volunteer Alberta (VA) is a diverse and inclusive member association strengthening and creating pathways for volunteerism and civic engagement in Alberta. Being the leader of a lean communications team, I advised and supported senior leaders in responding to all media inquiries while working alongside all the program managers to strategize communications for the best communication outcomes. I also worked closely with designers and web developers to rebuild a website with user experience in mind, which received compliments from senior leaders, members and stakeholders.

Excel Society is a non-profit organization that houses, supports, and enriches the lives of people with disabilities and mental health needs in Alberta. Working alongside the Director of Marketing and Communications, I helped craft a refreshed brand identity, co-led a number of fundraising campaigns and events, and rejuvenated many communication products/channels, including E-newsletter, annual report, website and social media.

Being a critical member of the MarComm team, I worked closely with local government and businesses to run a variety of seminars and co-host events to help newcomers integrate and build a successful life in GTA. I also worked directly with clients from various backgrounds to learn about their financial needs and tell heartfelt stories of how the services provided by Happy Life had a positive impact on their lives.
