Most recent interests have been in the study of everyday life, outsider status, who gets to make the rules, what everyday life means, and the practice of Zen. I've been a video artist since 1985 and an arts educator since 1991. I'm interested in new developments for media artists including web-based works, which has led me to the path of website development and coding. I'm a writer as well, having written numerous articles, essays, stories, screenplays, interviews, and a book on space, place, architecture and inter-dependencies of subject, object, and location.I'm building an online project with artist David Kalal called InBetweenTheories that presents online and browser-based artworks. In December 2017 we are launching our first artist, Luba Drozd, as well as our podcast, InBetweenTheories. See link below.From 2007 - 2016 I ran a photo blog called Quotidian New York comprising street scenes from the five boroughs and beyond, which is still up and running, but that particular project is over! See link below.In 2013, my book THE IRREDUCIBLE I: SPACE, PLACE, AUTHENTICITY, AND CHANGE was published by Atropos Press. It's about networks - human, machine, geographic, economic, ecological, and social - inspired by movements for resistance to hyper-capitalism and authoritarianism and also by Zen practice and Georges Perec.
