When I was a child, I immigrated with my family to the United States, and this experience influenced my dedication to serving the immigrant community. My first internship was as an AIDS Educator for migrant farm workers in a rural New York community. As a Clinical Social Worker and educator, I teach Mental Health Professionals to use their clinical skills to help Immigrants. I teach how to conduct and write comprehensive immigration evaluations to help clients keep their families together and safe in the United States. As my career progressed, I noticed that clients received low-quality immigration evaluations – usually just a single page in length. I decided to do something to remedy this and provide clients with a comprehensive and objective assessment. I work with clients personally to conduct immigration evaluations while also teaching others how to achieve quality evaluations, hoping that more practitioners will develop expertise in this underserved community. 𝗠𝘆 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗦𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗱𝗲:➨ Bilingual: fluent in both English and Spanish. I can conduct evaluations, train, present, and translate to and from both languages. ➨ Naturally curious, with a deep desire to learn and understand the how and why of things. This translates into thorough training classes that equip participants with the tools to succeed. ➨ Experienced presenter on immigration topics, drawing from my experience as a therapist and Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a dedicated history of working with immigrants and refugees. ➨ Skilled in assessment, trauma work, and crisis intervention, having completed over 700 immigration evaluations. ➨ Empathetic to the unique issues of immigrants and cultural differences overall. I draw from my experience as a practitioner to serve my students, who consistently praise my accessibility and willingness to guide them through their training process. Owner, Clinical Social Worker, And Mental Health Professionals TrainerImmigration Evaluation Institute Nov 2018 - PresentWHAT I DO & WHY IT WORKS: I develop and train mental health clinicians to support immigrants by teaching them how to conduct evaluations for various types of cases, including: ➨ Extreme hardship waivers ➨ Cancellation of removal cases➨ Asylum Cases➨ Violence Against Women Act Cases➨ U & T Visa Cases.I do this through an intensive online curriculum, ongoing support, and continued education via a robust online community, webinars, 1-on-1 consultations, and a providers’ directory.I’ve conducted over 300 evaluations and worked with dozens of lawyers throughout the U.S. This allows me to understand what clients find valuable and ensure the training is relevant. As an immigrant, I possess a unique perspective that many of my competitors lack. I can empathize with what my clients are experiencing, including leaving behind loved ones, one’s culture, and what’s familiar. WHAT PAST STUDENTS SAY:“Cecilia Racine’s courses for mastering immigration evaluations have been invaluable; she offers comprehensive and specialized, self-paced courses that you can take at your convenience. Her courses are worth your investment to offer the best possible services to your clients.” – Dr. Carolina Jimenez, Licensed Bilingual Psychologist“Thank you so much for offering the course. I just completed it yesterday. So helpful! It was clear and organized, and you really filled in the gaps of my knowledge. I feel so much more confident to market myself to more attorneys as a result.” – Nikki Sewell, LCSW“The course is helpful! I’m so incredibly excited about doing this work. Thank you SO much for putting this together. This seems like such a new sub-specialty in mental health, and it is the shared experience and knowledge from pioneers like you that will help the field grow in a much-needed way.” – Claudia P.
