Within my position, I help students succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. Our counseling staff provides a safe and calm environment for all high school students. In addition to mental health, I help students navigate their path towards their post-high school goals.

In preparation for a full time role at Jackson High School I was an intern under the supervision of Jillian Raymond. Within the internship I learned how to be an effective school counselor through understanding student's academic, social, and emotional needs.

At Spring Arbor University, I worked under the of the Director of Counseling to counsel college aged students with a variety of mental health concerns. This clinical mental health internship was a part of my Master's in Counseling degree. In addition to individual counseling, we hosted bi-weekly web-meetings with students to discuss pertinent mental health topics. I also created monthly mental health bathroom readers, and assisted with other mental health related tasks as needed.

As the Post Undergraduate Outreach Ministry Intern I helped to bridge the gap between Spring Arbor students and the Jackson community. My goal was to help students find volunteer work, internships, and ministry opportunities through communicating with organizations in Jackson, Michigan.I was also responsible for planning and coordinating Spring Break Missions Trips. I held meetings with team staff leaders, student leaders, and coordinated the logistical end of planning at Spring Arbor University. I planned trips to Guatemala, Indianapolis, Detroit, North Carolina, and Las Vegas.

As a teaching assistant I attended weekly lab sessions for the Research and Design course within the Psychology Department. I facilitated the course after the professor left the lecture section of the course. Within the class I helped students craft their research projects, while also answering questions pertaining to research and Microsoft Word. I also assisted in grading final projects at the end of the semester with the professor.

I organized, scheduled, and facilitated eight different sports throughout the school year in order to build campus community and engage in healthy competition. Each sport consisted of a season of game play and a tournament. Sports I facilitated included: sand volleyball, ultimate frisbee, flag football, indoor soccer, floor hockey, indoor volleyball, basketball, and outdoor soccer. Additionally, I work with campus faculty to reserve fields and gyms for participant use. I also oversee a team of four programmers who facilitate sports each night of the week-excluding Friday. I hold a weekly meeting with my supervisor and programmers to ensure everyone is up to date on current news involving Intramurals.

Each summer the Henry Ford facilitates summer camps for students from first grade through eighth grade. I worked with a different group of 2nd to 3rd graders each week, for six weeks, to enhance their knowledge of different eras of transportation. These different eras include walking, horseback, trains, automobiles, and flight. Through the inclusion of hands on activities, such as scavenger hunts, arts and crafts, and touring The Henry Ford campers are able to learn about the various areas of transportation in a fun and enjoyable environment. When summer camp was not available, I worked in the Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation with the Make Something Saturday program. This program is geared for children 5 and up. Each month I helped facilitate a new craft that pertains to the Model I. This model seeks to encourage all people, especially children to think like innovators. I helped set up crafts, maintained cleanliness, talked to children about what they made, and taught parents about the Model I in collaboration with our craft.

As an intern at Rise Above, I served at risk high school students. During my time there I built relationships with the students in order to gain trust, build confidence in them, and help them succeed in their lives. I co-led a life skills group in which we helped students to build self-esteem. I am also read literature to build my knowledge base of at risk students. https://www.riseabovejxn.org/

I worked for the Spring Arbor University Student Government Association as a Intramural Programmer. Through this position I was responsible for facilitating different sports throughout the school year in order to build community on campus. I had one "on duty" night each week in which I was responsible for setting up, watching, and tearing down that particular sports equipment. In addition to an "on duty" night I was responsible for Floor Captains. This means that I communicated with a representative living on each dorm floor through email and one in person meeting per semester. I sent each captain their floor schedule and rules booklet for each sport, in addition to updating them about other intramural events. The third responsibility I had as an Intramural Programmer was to update the Spring Arbor University campus app that is used for all students and faculty. Each week the Director of Intramurals emailed me a game schedule in which I individually input each game into the app in order for students to have an alternative way to view their game schedule in addition to the schedule sent out to Floor Captains.

I worked with a team of four to facilitate new student orientation for incoming freshman students at Spring Arbor University. As a team we organized orientation packets, communicated with Spring Arbor staff and faculty, and helped to run freshman move in day through behind the scenes activities such as: provide water to individuals and set up rest areas for parents.
