Cecilia Tucker, LMFT, is a well-respected marriage-and-family therapist in St. Petersburg, Florida. Now entering into retirement, Cecilia has had a long career specializing in family therapy, adolescent issues, and grief counseling. Along with her thriving private practice, she was president and director of the Counseling Center for New Direction in St. Petersburg, served as a consultant to many national and international corporations, and hosted an acclaimed radio show that aired in half a dozen states featuring teenage guest speakers.Before becoming a therapist, Cecilia (as she prefers to be addressed) earned a master’s degree in religious education and social work from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1979 and became the first woman in Florida to be ordained in the Southern Baptist Church. She became nationally recognized as a dynamic minister and public speaker renowned for her ability to tell it straight and make audiences laugh and cry.
