Responsible for the Financial operations of South Africa, UK & Europe. Provide strategic leadership in the development and management of the accounting team, financial systems, budgets and compliance. Lead and facilitate the development of an effective financial performance management system that allows for production of updated information for line managers, regular reports for the management and ensure compliance with the statutory reporting requirements.Duties include:- Manage a timely and efficient monthly close process of three international and two local entities, while improving the speed and accuracy thereof. - Management and development of Financial department’s staff.- Formulate financial targets and budgets in accordance with the company strategy determined by the board.- Responsible for the groups foreign jurisdictional financial matters, internal audits, direct taxation and indirect taxation according to US GAAP, IFRS, SEC requirements and local audit standards. - Developing strong intra-company relationships by proactively meeting with key leaders within the group of companies.- Driving strategic decision making through an in depth understanding of company cost structure, industry trends, market dynamics and internal key indicators.- Responsible for all financial reporting set up in multiple currencies including but not limited to USD, EURO, GBP, CHF and ZAR.- Consolidate forex transactions of multiple companies reporting in their local currencies into USD for consolidation.- Payroll management for the Swiss- and South African office for a total of 75 staff members, responsible for local office management.

Portfolio consisted of the full Financial Management function for the group of companies based in the USA, UK, Europe and South Africa. Also responsible for Human Resources and Talent acquisition, reporting directly to and collaborating with the CEO. Together with the CTO and CEO responsible for creating company KPI’s and business systems. Duties included:- Compile group budgets for all the entities. - Establish business processes to ensure the smooth functioning of key business practices, collaborate with division leaders.- Provide timely financial information and assistance to the CEO, including oversight of company KPI’s and metrics.- Establish and implement staff policies and procedures; attract and retain key members of staff.- Responsible for monitoring and improving staff productivity.- Network and identify new business partnerships and opportunities for collaboration or outsourcing. - Directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the human resources function.- Quarterly and annual audit preparations working closely with the international audit group.

Strategically guide and advise the management team on the financial implications of their projects. Formulate business strategy while monitoring spending and adhering to finance control. Duties included:- Continuous review of the working accounting practices and processes to ensure efficient and cost effective operations. - Produce financial statements including P&L, budgets, cash flows, management accounts with commentaries and analysis. - Preparation and presenting of consolidated financial reports to the EXCO team.- Annual audit preparation for South Africa and USA, working closely with international auditors. - Implement and adhere to expense control policies for the group. - Assist the CFO in the creation of annual new project budgets.- Create and maintain asset register. - Full payroll function for all the companies within the group. South Africa, USA, UK and Europe. - Calculation and management of all statutory returns in South Africa; VAT, PAYE and Income Tax. - Manage trainee accountants and interns, development and performance management.

- Daily application of financial management and principles of accounting to develop, analyse and maintain financial management systems.- Preparation, producing and presentation of consolidated and accurate financial management reports - Compiling of all statutory returns, PAYE, SDL, UIF and VAT (E-filing)- Monthly payroll function & Cost Accounting- Compiling, implementation and monitoring of annual budgets- Inter-company reconciliation and settling in local and foreign currency- Project reporting to directors- Supervision and monitoring of staff including ensuring meeting of deadlines- Relationship development and maintenance with franchisees and key clients

- Sourcing, procurement and establishment of all technical equipment and resources required for store and business systems management.- Assisting with strategic business plan creation including financial planning and marketing.- Compiling of annual, quarterly and monthly budgets plus promotions budgets.- Daily accounting functions including banking, cash management, debtors and creditors and collections.- Team member responsible for management of Young Designers Emporium account.- Compiling of ledger accounts.- Assisting in all general areas of business as required.- Media Expo event management including designing and creating of stand, transport logistics, travel arrangements and hosting.
