As of July 25th, 2009 I have had to join the ranks of those engaged only in the pursuit of knowledge granted by our creator without "gainful" empliyment. Essentially, in order to be near my children I have been forced(by circumstance) to move to the Republic of Ireland where I am one of many foreigners who are applying for the right to work and,more fundamentally, "Leave to Stay" here in Ireland. In January of 2010 I recieved notice that I was subject to deportation from Ireland as I had not made a compelling case to remain and then in March I was informed that despite my making as compelling an argument as was possible in writing to the contrary, the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform had determined that I was to be deported. Following a hurried appeal to the Irish High Court, where my application for leave to remain was denied, but having found some sympathy with the judge involved, I was given a new lease on remaining by adhearing to his instructions as to how to proceed prior to reseeking Judicial Review with the High Court should it ever become necessary. Basically, the judge took pity on this poor soul and gave him a blueprint on how to properly address my appeals through givernmental channels to the greatest effect and to belay deportation until such time as I am able to obtain a ruling from the family courts granting me the necessary "access" rights to my children which will allow me to remain permanently if I desire. In the meantime, I will uncomfortably lay in the bed I have made in hopes that the future holds happier days... along with a new listing here that grants me a title greater than Unemployed!
