Setting up an offshore development capability with a vendor in India and managing the delivery of a first 3 M€ contract. The Single Platform Custody programme aimed at harmonizing market practices and at consolidating the supporting systems in use within the Euroclear group. The build of the new custody platform (mainframe PL/1 development) was outsourced to a vendor in India. In charge of the development phase of the first release for a total size of 8,500 man-days to be delivered in a one-year timeframe. My responsibilities included: • Building the general operating model between Euroclear and the vendor.• Setting up the fixed-price contractual agreement.• Organizing the support and knowledge transfer to the vendor teams.• Creating a quality management system and monitoring the provider's delivery of build work packages. • Managing the relationship with senior vendor representatives. • Defining and managing the Configuration and Change Management activities for the overall programme across all phases.• Managing a team of internal project leaders, quality manager, developers, and configuration manager to support the above objectives.
