Essential Responsibilities:Training•Conducts or coordinates worker training in areas such as safety laws and regulations, company health and safety policies, use of safety equipment, violence in the workplace, incident investigation, hazmat processes and disposal, and relevant industry issues.•Reviews employee safety programs to ensure accuracy and effectiveness and communicates them to employees.Safety Management•Oversees the Safety and Asset Protection programs directly for assigned Regional Distribution Center and other flatbed and specialty locations in a mentor position, as requested.•Prepares, audits, and distributes location-specific safety goals annually.•Plans and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.People Leadership• Aligns the team’s time and effort on projects that are critical to the assigned RDC’s success.• Delegates the right tasks and decisions to the people who are in the best position to execute them. • Provides open feedback and mentorship to team members to encourage growth and greater responsibility.•Trains and develops the talent necessary to achieve stated objectives providing meaningful development opportunities for individuals in preparation for succession planning.Self-Leadership•Negotiates effectively for the organization with internal and external stakeholders and builds relationships with key individuals necessary for collaboration. •Develops and presents communications, frequently to senior leadership, communicating the desired message, at the appropriate level, for the right recipient.
