 From November 2013 to January 2014, CEHRD in collaboration with CHAI and the Rivers State Ministry of Health trained 1,880 health workers- ranging from Doctors, Nurses, Pharmacists, Pharmacist Technicians and CHEWS on the management of Diarrhoea with Zinc ORS in children less than 5 years in Rivers State. CEHRD during the project coordinated logistic planning, event management, and creation of trainee database, monitoring and evaluation, and resource management.  In 2014 CHAI in partnership with CEHRD supported the Federal and State Government Ministries of Health to increase awareness of private health providers in Rivers State. They created a platform for the demand of ZINC + ORS in the 23 Local Governments of Rivers State to ensure the use, availability and affordability of ZINC + ORS in both public and private health facilities; they built the capacity of PPMVs on the treatment of diarrhoea using ZINC + ORS, malaria using ACTs and the management of pneumonia; and also contributed immensely to the acceleration of progress towards the attainment of the objectives of the MDG4. In total, 3,052 PPMVs in the 23 Local Government Areas (LGA) were trained. Trainings’ specific objective was focused on identifying, equipping with the right kind of knowledge, clarifying and counselling caregivers on the treatment and management of diarrhoea, malaria and pneumonia.  In May/June 2014 CHAI partnered with CEHRD and assisted the Federal Ministry of Health (FMOH) to develop and implement a national Long Acting Reversible Contraceptive (LARC) strategic. The trainings consolidated government efforts and increased the accessibility of LARC to the strata of the society.

 With Endowment support from the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) from 2017 -2019, CEHRD implemented an independent community media Project (ICMAP) initiative where we identified, and strengthened the capacity of community journalists, Community Parliamentary Committees and participants from marginalized groups and communities in the target 3 States to democratize the media space and use audio-visual tools and evidence based advocacy to articulate their governance and development priorities to government and demand government accountability in the target three states – Rivers, Akwa Ibom and Bayelsa States in the Niger Delta.  During the implementation of the independent community media Project (ICMAP), communities were identified, and engaged during townhall meeting to create synergy with key actors and increase community voices and participation in governance programmes. CEHRD mobilized communities to conduct community needs assessments and engage government officials on the assessment findings through community parliaments, advocacy meetings, and community produced media content in Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, and Rivers states.

Establishment of Child Protection office and Resource Centre in Port Harcourt, which has, in collaboration with Medecine San Frontiers (Doctors without Borders), facilitated trauma care for victims of child abuse, gender based violence and sexual violence, while also offering legal and non-legal support for victims of child abuses.

Partnered with Search for Common Ground, on a post-amnesty Conflict Transformation Programme for the Rivers, Bayelsa, Delta States, later extended to Abia State (in 2014 - 2016).Post-Amnesty Peace building and Conflict Transformation training in Okrika, Omoku, Ogu and Kpor (2012-2016). Training of 560 community leaders in 16 oil impacted communities in Rivers and Bayelsa States on non-violent dispute resolution to facilitate the navigation of community grievances with international oil companies in 2014.Establishment of a Conflict Mediation Centre at Ogu in Ogu Bolo Local Government Area in Rivers State (2013). Establishment of thirty (30) Peace Clubs to support the Non-Violent Conflict Transformation Process in the Niger Delta Region in 2011.Community Level Advocacy and Institutional Engagement training in Biseni, Kaani, Joinkrama, and Tere-Ama communities (2008-2010)

 Regional Coordination of African Human Rights Education (AHRE) in the Port Harcourt Area of Nigeria in collaboration with Amnesty International. The overall goal of the Project is "to improve human rights for the most disadvantaged by empowering communities in Six Niger Delta communities to promote and defend their human rights"(2014). Investigated, reported and campaigned on child protection and prevention of abuse in Bayelsa and Rivers States (2014).  With Dutch implemented an Intervention framework for mainstreaming environmental rights for sustainable livelihood and development in the Niger Delta (Rivers and Bayelsa State). - Human Rights Streams (2012-2016). Collated 60,000 signatures in campaign for the domestication of Violence Against Persons’ Prohibition (VAPP) Act in Rivers and Bayelsa States in August, 2019.

Child Right Project – In July 2009, CEHRD formalized its partnership arrangement with Stepping Stones Foundation to monitor, document and report child right violations in six states (Rivers, Bayelsa, Cross River, Delta, Akwa-Ibom and Edo) of the Niger Delta. The project in line with the mandate of Stepping Stone Nigeria (SSN) is dedicated to promoting and protecting the rights of vulnerable and disadvantaged children such as the so called “child witches” in the Niger Delta. We are working towards a world where every child is free and their rights are protected under a just law.

 In collaboration with SDN, successful implementation of the STAND (Strengthening Transparency and Accountability in the Niger Delta) (2008). Establishment of Community Information Centers at Kpite and Bodo (2008). Founding member of the Niger Delta Citizens Budget Monitoring Platform (2007). Establishment of three community level Youth Networks in three Local Government Areas in Rivers State under the NSRP project to promote transparency and accountability in government delivery of economic and employment services (2014-2016). Participation in the Federal Government SURE-P Programme to train four graduate interns. Coordinating election observation and citizen’s voter education in Akwa-Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross River, Delta and Edo States. Establishment of the Women in Governance network in Marine base community to promote women inclusion and participation in community and state governance. Setting-up of functional peace clubs of 600-male/female memberships in three LGAs under the NSRP project has increased the level of peace education and has also set a platform for action on reduction of violence against women/girls (2014 – 2016). Launched the Women in Governance Network (WIGN) at the Senatorial District levels in Rivers and Bayelsa states in August 2019.

 Partnered with the Swiss Embassy, Nigeria to provide 1 new block of classrooms, desks for pupils, bookshelves, chairs and tables for teachers, solar powered water facility and water closet toilet facility for a Community Primary School in Luere Beeri Community in Ogoni, to improve their Infrastructure and Sanitary Conditions for Effective Teaching and Learning. Training of Bayelsa & Rivers State legislators on Best Practice Mechanisms on Natural Resource Governance in collaboration with Amnesty International, London. (2016) Active involvement in election monitoring and observation, voter education, and training of election observers (2007 and 2011 elections).
