Ceilidh hails from Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia. After spending a number of years away, she returned to Halifax and began her career in hospitality in which she now has 14 years experience. Ceilidh opened Field Guide at the age of 24 with Chef and co-owner Daniel Vorstermans. Together they introduced Halifax to a casual, fresh, and intimate way to enjoy cocktails and locally sourced small plates with a focus on exceptional service. The pair went on to be opening partners in Highwayman where they designed both the menu and the space, propelling the restaurant onto En Route’s top ten restaurants list in 2016. Ceilidh’s passion is people and making lasting connections with both guests and staff. She currently manages day-to-day operations at Field Guide including hands-on tasks such as serving guests and directing the wine programme.Ceilidh opened Fawn in December of 2022 with business partners Katie Tower and Natalie Rosen.
