Christopher E. Jackson, Sr. is the Director of the City of Inglewood's Economic and Community Development Department in California where he oversees the Planning, Building Safety, Code Enforcement and Economic Development Divisions with a growing staff of over 30 employees and a host of consultants. He manages an annual operating budget of over 6 million dollars and revenues of 6 percent of the City of Inglewood's General Fund. He is a proud graduate of California State Polytechnic University at Pomona with a degree in Urban and Regional Planning. He is currently pursuing his MBA in Community Economic Development at Southern New Hampshire University. He has a long career in public planning and public policy and has worked for such California cities as San Dimas, Tustin, Whittier, Santa Clarita and Los Angeles. Among his many city projects, he is also managed the Inglewood's City of Champions Revitalization Initiative which added a 5 Billion dollar state-of-the-art 70,000 seat stadium (SoFi Stadium) and 6,000 seat performance venue (YouTube Theater) to the 2 Billion dollar Hollywood Park project situated on 298 acres of land. He also managed the 100 million dollar Inglewood Forum renovation which has won many rehabilitation awards. He also was the key staff leading the effort to bring a NBA arena (Intuit Dome) to Inglewood which is now under construction and slated to open in 2024. Mr. Jackson served as a past Board member of the Planning in the Black Community Division of the American Planning Association, past President of the Los Angeles Beta Psi Lambda chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., and is an ordained Minister. Mr. Jackson is an avid road biker and a member of the Major Taylor Bicycle Club. Mr. Jackson is married to his lovely wife Tracy and they have a total of seven children and four grand children.
