Currently working towards my Bachelors in Health Sciences at The Ohio State University, I hope to soon continue my education at a graduate program that will help me reach my dream of becoming a physical therapist. Having had the experience of receiving treatment from several highly skilled physical therapists growing up with chronic scoliosis, I was inspired to have the same impact on others that they had on me. I have worked as a Chiropractic Intern at Booher Family Chiropractic, where I got first hand experience of both the challenge and the reward of being a part of many different individual's rehabilitation process. There I had the opportunity to perform different therapies under the supervision of a physician, record and maintain patient records, develop skills centered around patient centered care, and handle other various administrative tasks that were needed in the office. I am now working as a Pharmacy Technician Trainee for Kroger Health and have gained a greater knowledge of the vastness of the healthcare industry and all that it entails. I am finding that no matter how much you think you know, every patient is different and deserves the highest level of compassion, empathy, patience, and care. Being at Kroger Pharmacy has exposed me to gain greater practical skills like data entry, collaboration with insurance companies, counting, labeling, and recording prescription amounts and dosages, multitasking, and attention to detail, as well as many interpersonal skills like patience, productive communication, and active listening. The experiences that I have had both on the therapy table and beside it have shaped the way that I view therapeutics and all that it entails. I look forward to continuing on this path, and seeing many people healed, restored, and rehabilitated.
