"Thank you." Two simple words. But when they are put together, they can have so much heartfelt meaning and emotion behind them. Over the years I have had any number of people: young, middle aged, older, couples, college students, parents, even children, tell me "thank you" for helping them. Sometimes it has been after many months of seeing one another, and other times it's been after one session, but the joy and humility I feel from their words never dims; never grows old. I find it such an incredible privilege and honor to be able to come along side someone who is at a point in their lives where they are in need of that extra help, extra encouragement, to learn new coping skills to help get them through a difficult or tough time. Everyone experiences at least one time in their lives where some form of therapy; whether it's cognitive/behavioral, art, talk or play therapy, can be of immense value. Providing the opportunity to people to search ways to heal past hurts and traumas, is the most rewarding and fulfilling part of my profession.Though I have been working within an agency, I would now like to work in an established group setting, as I feel it would enable me more latitude in my ability to provide even greater caring, therapeutic techniques. It's my utmost desire to care for my clients to the full extent of my ability without the hinderance of an agency's bottomline mentality.
