+Performs technical research and development for Sonora Quest/Banner Health System Cytology Department +Evaluates referral testing and makes recommendations on bringing testing in-system. +Participates in the evaluation and selection of new procedures and instrumentation.+Assists in writing new procedures and policies. +Help development and implement of QC and QA policies and procedures. +Participates in CQI projects and outcome measurement studies. +Provides technical expertise in regards to utilization issues for testing within the technical area. +Develops plans for validation of all processes. +Actively participates in software and equipment validations+Ensures that regulatory and compliance standards are met. +Provides technical support to all sites during inspections.+Standardizes practices between sites when possible. + Works with the Administrative Director, Anatomic Pathology, Cytology Manager and site management to provide technical staff development within their technical area. Provide technical in-services for all system personnel. +Develops a personnel competency assessment program. Participates in the implementation of the program across the system. Reviews results and identifies additional training needs.+Serves as a system technical resource for all testing sites on all shifts. Provides technical support for problem solving. +Performs microscopic examination and diagnosis of benign conditions and abnormalities in cell samples from various body sites GYN and Non-GYN+Perform QC on GYN specimens+Participates in CAP inspection teams

+Perform high complexity testing+Perform interpretative evaluation for NGYN specimens.+Establish policies and procedures to meet regulatory standards (CLIA/CAP/NYS and FDA)+Day-to-day management of Quality Management System including standard operating procedures and policies, evidence of compliance and associated corrective actions and effectiveness checks+Assist in LIS integration+Manage day-to-day supervision or oversight of the laboratory workflow operation and personnel performing testing and reporting test results including training, competency assessment and re-training+Continuously assess opportunities for improvement in quality and production+Participate in other projects and perform other duties as requested by Director and CTO

+ Performs microscopic examination and diagnosis of benign conditions and abnormalities in cell samples from various body sites.+ Performs testing in an accurate and timely manner, according to established policies and performance standards.+ Performs cytopreparation and assists at fine needle aspirations when required+ Performs microscopic examination of GYN specimens using an Imaging System+ Assists during EBUS procedures+ Provides adequacy assessments during fine needle procedures+ Perform QC on GYN specimens+ Participate in proficiency testing.+ Acts as a department resource & demonstrates knowledge and application of computer systems used in the department.
