As the sole project manager on many of my projects, I oversee the design and construction process of a building project, monitoring the progress of the process and making sure it's on track. Essential to this role is the development and organisation of building plans and cost reviews to ensure that the project meets all the client's standards. It is essential to communicate and relate to clients, being trustworthy and able to guide them through the process.In this role the ability to interface with different professionals is key; being comfortable in multicultural environments; being able to think quickly and responding to clients' expectations. On the operational side of the job, I am involved in: site surveys, layout development and executive drawings, bill of quantities, managing tenders for service providers, placing orders with suppliers, liaising with MEP engineers and general contractors, liaising with clients, landlords and regulatory departments, site visits.
