Senior Human Resources Executive for $54M non-profit private member athletic and country club with 2 campuses, 10,000+ members, 520+ employees and 3 collective bargaining agreements. Host of the 2012 U.S. Open Championship and the 2015 Inaugural Amateur Four Ball Championship.Direct and manage a Human Resources team in recruitment, benefits, compensation, training and leadership development, worker’s compensation, employee risk management, leaves of absence, employee relations, labor relations and labor/management partnership building, succession planning, regulatory compliance and employee recognition and engagement. Provide strategic direction and support to senior management and operations leaders to achieve Club objectives in all departments; food and beverage, hotel rooms, catering, housekeeping, engineering, athletics, golf operations, tennis, golf maintenance, retail, front office and administrative. Advise senior and operating managers on employee conduct, liability and disciplinary issues. Oversee employee engagement: recognition and suggestion programs, employee survey, employee committees, employee events and employee communications including digital signage, communication boards, email posts. Establish and maintain positive working partnerships with each labor union through timely resolution of employee concerns and grievances and labor/management problem solving committees. Member of negotiating team for three collective bargaining agreements; UNITE! HERE Local 2, SEIU-USWW and International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 39. Implement ongoing training for employees in 4 languages to include job specific skills, legal and regulatory compiance, Club policies and service. Offer management training/leadership development on Emotional Intelligence, Communication, Managing a Union Workforce, Writing Job Descriptions, Interviewing, Establishing Standards, Employee Injuries/Worker’s Compensation, Accountability/Progressive Discipline, etc.
