I lead district-wide initiatives to improve learning opportunities so that each student receives the support and academic interventions they need to reach their full potential. I build district level systems and processes that support the enactment of best practices in individual schools, and I work with campus leadership teams and continually grow and coach their teaching teams. Initiatives include Response to Intervention progress monitoring and data analysis, Gifted and Talented programming, Advanced Academics, Campus and District Improvement planning, Summer School and others. Additionally, I have worked diligently with our district's leadership to adapt instruction during the COVID-19 shutdown, and to construct and deliver a comprehensive and safe plan to return to school this fall, while taking into account the needs of our students, staff, and families. I enjoy reaching out professionally to new Gifted and Talented coordinators in other districts and growing my extended network through speaking, mentoring, and peer support. During a budget crunch year, I saved 26% of the GT annual budget by developing in-house capacity for training and development and brought in an additional 50% of the annual GT budget in grants and additional annual revenue for gifted program development.

Teaching Leadership

Taught Group Communication, an applied communication course with a strong community service component.

Reviewed chapters for introduction to communication textbook. Contributed material to ethical communication boxes.

Taught stand alone sections of Team Based Communication and Professional Communication Skills; was invited to consult for the McCombs School of Business Texas Evening MBA's Business Emersion Course as a presentation coach; contributed two chapters to Professional Communication textbook.

Taught Interpersonal Communication, Speech and Introduction to Communication at various ACC campuses.

Served on NSF funded research project under the direction of Dr. M.S. Poole conducting interviews for decision support system models.

Taught stand alone section of Public Speaking.

Taught Professional Communication, and Public Speaking to both regular classes and sections of students with language or speech impairment.

Enterprise solutions group: part of the team providing direct tech support to high level executives, break/fix repair, email support and recovery and the protection and handling of sensitive information; tested and wrote end-user documentation for new hardware and software implementation firm-wide.

Secondary Assistant to CIO and VP of Information Systems. Participated in job candidate screening, vendor selection and negotiated access to both high level managers. Designed a streamlined central administration process on own initiative which resulted in promotion to Programmer Analyst.
