About Celeste Walley

Hi, I’m Celeste! I am currently the Permanency and Youth Engagement Advisor at CA Alliance’s Catalyst Center. I earned my bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of California Merced while simultaneously serving youth in wraparound programs. My lived experience is the foundation of my passion. That experience led me to be a co-founder of Seneca Family of Agency’s Youth Advisory Board and has landed me seats on several national and local advocacy opportunities. My passion for youth voice has had a tremendous impact and I hopes to continuously grow my impact and drive positive change in the foster, mental, and medical health systems.

This fellowship will provide training, coaching and access to a suite of resources to help young, emerging leaders express their ideas, amplify their voice and move into action over the course of five (5) months. The program intent is to create pathways for and build the capacity of Transitional Age Youth (TAY) community members to address the social systems that impact their lives. Our communities are experiencing multiple forms of trauma including COVID-19 and Racial Battle Fatigue. While systems and agencies are responding, scores of decisions are being made without the input of those most affected. The Blaze Forward Fellows program will be a space for young people to think, act, and be heard.
