A psychology (double major) graduate from the University of Western Australia who seeks to balance my skills with my passions.Having always had an interest in understanding behaviour and how one's background can have a profound impact on their present selves, I decided to pursue psychology. Over the course of university, I developed a desire to work on the ground— meeting individuals where they are in order to help them process their past and support their growth both now and in time to come.In particular, I am passionate about children, youth and family support. I have looked out for opportunities to be around these groups, such as through my previous volunteering work at Perth Children's Hospital, as well as through teaching children and supporting those with mental health struggles in my local church in Australia.I was additionally able to gain exposure to the workings of the Counselling and Psychological Services (CAPS) department in my research internship at Family Justice Courts. Through this opportunity, I gained an understanding of the landscape in Singapore in regards to family dispute resolution (divorce) and other departments, such as Child Protection and Personal Protection Orders (PPO). On a personal front, I have various creative pursuits; Writing, theatre, photography and videography are hobbies of mine that are also expressive outlets for emotion and encounters in my daily life.
