Post Doctoral Research Associate
This is a continuation of my graduate work for the purposes of finishing computations for a couple of papers.
Adjunct Lecturer
• Taught a multidisciplinary laboratory course to a wide variety of students with topics from: physics, chemistry, biology, engineering, and experimental design.• Assisted in the development and revision of course teaching materials.• Applied creative problem solving to resolve problems with ineffective laboratory equipment.• Performed and reported regular assessments on student progress.• Troubleshot equipment failures on the fly and adapted course materials so that students could still complete projects in the event of faulty equipment.
Research Assistant
I work as a graduate research assistant on an independent advised research project. I study the photoexcited dynamics in Silicon using Density Matrix theory with significant computer assisted aspects. Recently my studies have focused on determining conductivity of a photoexcited system using ab initio electronic parameters- Have facilitated a transition from VASP to Quantum Espresso for generation of electronic parameters- Regularly program in FORTRAN 90/95 to work with planewaves and calculate specific quantities. - Use MATLAB for data processing, analysis, and plotting.- Regularly writing reports on derivations and progress. - Occasional presentations at conferences including the Sanibel Symposium. - Experience in parallelizing Fortran 90 code through the use of OpenMP- Developed a software suite for processing and utilizing wavefunction files output from Quantum Espresso. - Developed an interactive analysis software for visualizing the complex multidimensional data needed to understand the dynamics of photoexcited particles in semiconductor systems. -Developed a deep understanding of dissipative dynamics in photoexcited semiconductor systems using the Liouville-VonNeumann equation- Developed a deep understanding of Density Matrix theory, in particular, how to treat photoexcited quantum system. - Utilized a variety of Numerical Analysis techniques
Teaching Assistant
Over the course of several different semesters I taught either the second semester introductory physics laboratory class or the second semester introductory physics recitation course. - Responsible for teaching and tutoring 50-70 students per semester. - Course topics include: Coulomb's Law, Electricity and Magnetism, Optics, and Circuit Design. - Developed teaching strategies and plans to maximize student learning- Recorded several video lectures to improve teaching efficiency and give students more opportunity to work and learn at their own pace. - Assisted in the revision of and error checking of teaching materials.
