We engage directly with the end user to discover key insights that lead to better and validated solutions early on.We approach problems in various formats: from classic coaching/advisor sessions to hands-on involvement for several weeks embedded within the team, such as a complete design sprint to solve a specific problem. Recently, I have collaborated with startups like Almaya Life, Parsed, Edison, and Draft Design.

Over the years at Mural, I transitioned from being the first product designer to forming and leading the product design team and overseeing the entire user experience of the product for the first nine years.In 2020, as we experienced exponential growth, my focus shifted exclusively to hiring director-level design leaders for a few months. Once we found the right design leadership team, I decided to continue overseeing the experience within the "Canvas" —the core part of the product experience— where my previous background and skills were most valuable.Additionally, I kept training and mentoring product designers and led initiatives to keep our customer-centered culture strong and healthy as we scaled.

As the first founder-employee and designer at Mural, I led the Product Design function from the very beginning, overseeing its evolution through iterations until we achieved product-market fit and a sustained growth in our enterprise offering.During the first 6-7 years, I worked closely with the founders, wearing multiple hats, designing and iterating solutions to meet our customers' needs, always caring about our users, and making mindful design decisions together. As an individual contributor, I could take my passion for interaction design and great usability to the next level with Mural's UX challenges.Mural's culture has always relied on strong collaboration to solve real problems, which allowed us to be agile and effective in listening to our customers and producing valuable solutions that would revolutionize how teams work forever.As Head of Product Design, my main focus was guiding the entire team through an optimal design process by:• Institutionalizing good user research practices for both PMs and Product designers.• Conducting cross-functional workshops to achieve alignment and produce relevant solutions quickly. These workshops included a wide range of well-proven collaborative design methods, such as Design Studio sessions, Lean UX, Design Thinking workshops, and the latest Google-branded compact version called "Design Sprints," among other business and design frameworks.• Encouraging a strong practice and culture of Design Critique to ensure rapid evolution of solutions and quality of the experience.• Fostering a culture of transparency and continuous learning, where we not only listen to users but also understand the motivations of all key roles in the company, seeking for collaborative work dynamics that lead to superior solutions.As a manager, I thoroughly enjoyed mentoring and helping develop product designers, encouraging them to take risks and grow, and eagerly putting their work in front of real users as soon as possible to learn.

Co-founded Futbol360 with two former colleagues, embarking on my first entrepreneurial adventure and gaining valuable insights from our naive early startup phase, including the realization of underestimating the importance of go-to-market strategies in comparison to product development.Led the UX design efforts and personally handled HTML and CSS coding responsibilities during my time at Futbol360.

Developed and designed the curriculum for a comprehensive 16-week Introduction to Interaction Design class as part of the Web Design program at Da Vinci School.Led instructional sessions, aiming to create an engaging learning environment where students could benefit from my industry experience through practical insights and real-world examples.

Contributed as both an individual contributor and a design leader in multiple projects for clients across diverse industries, including notable projects such as E-sidif from MECON, Axioma Portfolio, and pioneering home banking experiences in the year 2000.Advocated for user-centered design practices, enhancing the effectiveness of involving design early in the process and performing usability tests for Hexacta's clients.Played a key role in fostering a culture of cross-functional collaboration by actively engaging with diverse stakeholders, expanding and deepening participation between design, development and project management functions.Took the lead in hiring UX Designers, overseeing the onboarding process and providing coaching and mentoring to new team members.
