Raised by a journalist/editor, I was introduced to the world of communications before I knew how to tie my shoes. While this nurtured an immediate passion for writing and storytelling, I also had a passion for art. As a child, I feared a job in communications meant sitting at a keyboard all day while ignoring the side of me that wanted to get my hands messy. Then came social media. For me, it felt as if the stars were aligning. Social media provided me the opportunity to pursue effective, thought-provoking dialogue that utilized my strong writing abilities while simultaneously allowing me the artistic freedom to express myself through graphic design, photography, and cohesive color schemes.I currently work as the Social Media Manager for both the National Institute for Social Media (NISM) and OMCP, a digital marketing certification body acquired by NISM. In these roles, I oversee digital strategies, content creation, and community engagement, helping expand our educational reach and enhance our digital presence. In September 2019 I became a certified Social Media Strategist through NISM after passing a rigorous exam that covered six separate subject areas: social media strategic planning, compliance & governance, social media marketing, project & campaign management, community management, and research & analytics.
