Churchville, Pa

Volunteered for several Summers at the Churchville Nature Center, located in Churchville, PA to promote environmental education and responsible stewardship. I worked in the butterfly house alongside the director of the program, Stommy Blauth. I would maintain the house by weeding, pruning, and watering the plants. I educated children about the lifecycle of butterflies, their habitats and host plants. I worked at various events: The Monarch tagging, butterfly tours, and Nighttime creatures’ weekend to name a few. These events were in place to educate children and adults about the Lepidoptera family and how to protect these insects and their habitats, so they can continue to thrive.
