Stationed full-time at a high school, I worked to support students at risk of dropping out through program development, family and community engagement, and individual case management. I connected students with supports from outside organizations, such as DVSAS (Domestic Violence Sexual Assault Services) and emergency housing (Northwest Youth Services). While individually mentoring students I assisted them in goal-setting and with social and emotional support. I developed curriculum for the mandatory freshman peer mentoring program and led monthly meet-ups and trainings for mentors, in total managing a program with 125 students. Other initiatives included running an after school tutoring center and a LGBTQ+ student book club.
