Responded to natural disasters in partnership with FEMA to conducted community damage assessments and assist homeowners with property restoration/debris removal with the National Civilian Conservation Corps.

Costa Rica

Collected data on bird biodiversity in Corcovado and Carrara National Parks using audio-recording technology, with the goal of creating a citizen-science program for local communities. Also interviewed nature guides, park rangers, and eco-tourism professionals for an article on science and environmental activism in Costa Rica (published in Planet Magazine, Fall 2008).
