I am an award-winning senior academic with a proven track record of excellence in leading and motivating others. My uniqueness as an educator lies in my integration of visual imagery and pedagogy, with a special focus on industry-facing collaborative projects, graduate skills and the student experience. My 29 years' experience of researching, designing, writing and delivering HE programmes at undergraduate and post-graduate level includes leading courses in Photography for Fashion and Advertising (BA Hons) and Printmaking (MA). As an effective and passionate leader, I have proven that I can create and nurture communities with which staff and students alike can positively identify. I have exhibited and published widely, both nationally and internationally, and have spoken at a number of conferences and symposia. My focus is upon sharing best practice as an educator, and upon raising the profile of my developing activist work in tackling inequality in a range of contexts. In recent years I have also begun writing texts for inclusion in exhibition catalogues and monographs, at the request of publishers and photographic practitioners. Above all else, I want to continue to make a difference in the world, and to equip others to do the same.
