I am a traditional and digital media specialist living in Wanaka but working across the Southern Lakes, New Zealand. I am an award-winning former journalist with more than 10 years' writing and editing experience working for a range of newspapers and magazines in New Zealand and the United Kingdom, as well as freelancing to a national news radio station. In 2013 I set up Scope Communications, a communications and PR consultancy based in Queenstown and Wanaka but servicing clients throughout NZ and Australia. We champion meaningful connections through a proactive, creative and strategic approach to digital communications and public relations. Specialising in digital PR, we also handle reputation management and crisis comms, stakeholder and media relations, editorial strategy and brand storytelling, website copywriting geared for SEO, social media advertising and Google Ads. In 2021 we won a Silver Award at the NZ Pressies Awards for Best Use of Media Relations. In 2022 Scope Media was awarded BusinessDesk Best Small to Medium PR Consultancy of the Year at the national PRINZ Awards and in 2024 we won a Silver Award for the same category.I am also the vice chair of the Ignite Wānaka Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Public Relations Institute of New Zealand (MPRINZ, APR), a member of the Institute of Directors and a board member of Te Kupeka Umaka Māori ki Araiteuru - Southern Māori Business Network (KUMA).
