Celia Jaber, Brand Design Lead at Pinterest, Educator at Academy of Art, and most recently creator of Yin&Yay Books. Celia is a multidisciplinary creative lead, able to collaborate and design across product and brand teams. Her work has been recognized by national and international awards varying between branding, illustration and print design, notably One Show, NY Advertising Festival, and Dubai Lynx. Celia spent her early career in Dubai, working as a Senior Designer at JWT before traveling to Milan for her MA in Design Thinking at Domus Academy. In her mid career, she moved to San Francisco in 2016 to work with top design agencies (Frog & Butchershop) on tech and start-up consumer brands. She worked as Visual Design Lead on the brand identity for Meta (Oculus Go), and later joined Pinterest’s brand design team in 2018 where she designed digital products and brand experiences for the Creator audience. Also in 2018, she joined the Academy of Art University as a part-time educator, teaching MA students a foundations course on UX Design. Fun, creative, optimistic, and passionate about culture, she’s often happiest among diverse design teams thinking and designing for various consumer experiences. In her current role as Creative Director of Yin&Yay Books, she’s focused on bringing cultural storytelling to the lifestyle brand she is creating. In 2020, as she became a mom, she wrote and illustrated a self initiated series of board books aimed at modern new families (expats and diaspora) with babies ages 0-2 years old who like to see their culture represented in modern children’s books. The board book series is now selling in gift shops and bookstores across US, Canada, and the Middle East. Celia is looking forward to collaboration opportunities with brands who share the same goals of inspiring positive change.
