As a PhD student (2026) in Neuroscience at Queen’s University, my research explores into the connections between self-motivated biases, consciousness, and leadership. I believe that by reprogramming our cognitive processes, we can create leaders who are not only effective but also just, equitable, and deeply connected to the broader mission of democratizing justice.In myformer role as the Sr. Advisor for Cultural Transformation and Strategic Initiatives and Adjunct Lecturer at Queen’s University Health Sciences, I merged academic insights with real-world applications, guiding Health Sciences through transformative leadership and cultural shifts. My work extends beyond traditional DEI frameworks, aiming to create a world where justice is accessible to all, and where our collective humanity is realized in every decision and action.I am also a business consultant, coach, and international speaker, dedicated to sharing the principles of cognitive retraining with leaders worldwide. My memoir, Can You Hear Me Now: How I Learned to Live with Passion and Purpose, published by Penguin Random House Canada, was honoured as a finalist for both the 2021 Shaughnessy Cohen Prize for Political Writing and the Speaker of Ontario Legislature Book Award.My journey includes serving as an elected federal Member of Parliament for Whitby, Ontario, where I held roles as Parliamentary Secretary to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Parliamentary Secretary for International Development. My advocacy has earned me recognition in O Magazine, Chatelaine Magazine, and the Canadian Alliance on Mental Illness and Mental Health Champions.With a Bachelor of Science and MBAs in Healthcare Management and Executive Management from the Rotman School of Management, I bring a strong academic and professional foundation to my work. Additionally, I am a certified Health and Meditation Instructor through the Chopra Global Centre, integrating holistic well-being into my leadership approach.Before my political career, I founded Resolve Research Solutions, Inc., a firm dedicated to advancing understand neurological conditions. Today, I continue to contribute to the boards of Elexicon Corporation and Lakeridge Health Foundation, where I apply my expertise in project management, advocacy strategy, equity, inclusion, justice, and transformative leadership.
