Hi, welcome to my tiny patch of LinkedIn. I hate talking about myself, but I love talking about ideas. I love listening even more. I have been privileged to turn my love for listening into a career spanning 15 years and counting.During this time, I have heard stories of loss, adversity and system failure; as well as courage, passion, love and resilience. I have supported hundreds of health consumers, their families, and their carers to share their stories and experiences with service providers, researchers, politicians and media. I have listened to people's concerns about their future health and aged care needs, and helped them talk candidly with their loved ones and health providers about what a good death means to them.I never stop listening. But there is also a time to act. I have translated these stories and experiences into policy and reform; training programs for doctors and aged care workers; service and program design; strategic planning; and lobbying campaigns. I teach other organisations how to listen and act, too.I am passionate about social justice and human rights everywhere, but particuarly in health care and for people living with cognitive impairment. I have a deep love for the arts and its power to bring community together. I am open to freelance opportunities. I occassionally write from the heart at Crikey.
