The goal of my graduation project is to create high-resolution three-dimensional visualizations of the four stages of cell division using the new 64-beam FAST-EM system.

The goal of this internship is to optimize the production of artificial cell membranes on multi-gap flow cells using different types of lipids This study attempts to mimic the membranes of eukaryotic cells, by using some of their most abundant lipids in their membranes. Mimicked cell membranes can be used to study the response of the membranes to its surroundings. By using a microfluidic multi-gap flow cell, the lipids form lipid bilayers by self-assembly under the right circumstances. This project confirms that forming lipid bilayers requires an appropriate buffer, a plasma cleaning treatment of the surface of the flow cell and a specific type of silane treatment.

The goal of my bachelor end project was to automate finding the colocalization of three proteins associated with Acute Myelotic Leukemia on 3D images, using Manders' colocalization coefficients and the programming tools in Fiji (Java).

As PR manager my function was managing contact with the community. Therefore I placed weekly updates on the Facebook and started a LinkedIn page for the team. I went a few times to our communication advisors of the TU Delft, Wendy Dallinga and Lenny Bakker. They helped me with creating a press release. I also managed to get articles on different websites, magazines and newspapers. For policy and practice I made a little start in looking into how to optimize teamwork within a team. For the wet lab, I helped a few times, such as doing colony PCR, ligation and transformation.

I teached mathematics to prepare students for their high school exams. I coordinated both whole classes as well as helping individual students with specific questions and obstacles.
