As part of my master degree in Humanitarian Action, I had to do a compulsory internship. Gender Concerns International provided me with a suitable position to be able to combine two interests of gender equality and humanitarian response. This NGO puts effort into increasing female political participation at all levels, local, regional and the national level. This is done both within the Netherlands as well as abroad through the implementation of projects that aim to improve the position of women in the respective countries.My main tasks during this internship were the following:- Communication & Outreach- Staff Coordination and Assistance to the director- Drafting Concept Notes and Project Proposals- Administration and Content Management of Website & Social Media- Human Resources and Office Management- Researching and Translation of Documents

The Erasmus Student Network (ESN) is a large student network with over 500 departments that operate throughout Europe. In the Netherlands, there are 15 departments, with the department of Groningen being one of the largest in the Netherlands. ESN aims to provide (inter)national students with a great experience during their (exchange) study time through a variety of activities, ranging from career events, excursions, integration and language projects as well as sport activities. I occupied the function of Integration Coordinator within the department of ESN Groningen, functioning in a team of 6 people in total. My main tasks were the following:- Directing and implementing integration & language projects- Supervision of 2 committees (consisting of 4-6 persons) that were in charge of organising activities- Application interviews- Leading a project group of 12 people, commissioned by the Municipality of Groningen

Leading a project team of 11 members with the aim to organise a 2-day event to inspire and show international students relevant opportunities that Groningen has to offer for their future careers. This project was commissioned by the Municipality of Groningen.The project group meetings were held weekly, whereas there was also a steering committee, consisting of representatives of the University of Groningen, Hanze University of Applied Sciences, The province of Groningen as well as the Municipality of Groningen. The meetings for the steering committee were held every 3 weeks in which progress was discussed.My main tasks were the following:- Leading weekly project meetings- Organising activities and arranging locations as part of the 2-day programme.- Radio session for promotion of the project- Reporting to the steering committee
