Conçu en deux volets, une publication inédite et une exposition muséale, le projet "Nuances de Rouge. Cent ans de relations entre le monde communiste et les arts plastiques en Belgique", sous la direction de Paul Aron à l'Université Libre de Bruxelles, explore cent ans de relations entre le monde communiste et les arts plastiques en Belgique. Si le parti communiste est resté un parti relativement marginal dans le monde ouvrier, il a néanmoins marqué la société belge à plusieurs moments de son histoire et de nombreux artistes plasticien(ne)s ont rejoint ses rangs ou ont participé à ses activités. Le projet concerne aussi les courants dissidents du monde communiste, les mouvements trotskistes ou maoïstes, ainsi que les groupes et partis qui s’en revendiquent.

Camouflage gaat verder dan het abstracte patroon. Het FeliXart Museum biedt met de tentoonstelling Camouflage: Art – Nature – War meer dan een historisch overzicht van tactieken en motieven. Het reflecteert ook over het camouflagethema in de kunst en de samenleving. In tijden van gezichtsherkenning en privacy-risico’s blijft camouflage een uiterst actueel thema. Het ons zo vertrouwde abstracte camouflagepatroon kreeg vorm op hetzelfde moment dat de abstracte kunstbeweging in België aanvatte, een eeuw geleden. Tijdens de Eerste Wereldoorlog werd er geëxperimenteerd met optische illusies uit de natuur om ze tactisch in te zetten in militaire strategieën. De tentoonstelling brengt een verrassende en originele combinatie vol kunstwerken, natuurobjecten en militaria waarbij zowel de relatie tot de natuur alsook de fenomenen van de optische illusies en de dubbelzinnigheid van beelden belicht worden.

A forgotten collection of 1920s works of art, containing the greatest names of Belgian modern art, was reconstitued for the first time since 1927 at the FeliXart Museum in Drogenbos. Works by James Ensor, René Magritte, Léon Spilliaert, Constant Permeke, Gustave Van de Woestyne, Frits Van den Berghe, Victor Servranckx and others, which were exhibited in the exhibition of Belgian art in two groups organized at the Musée de Grenoble in 1927 offer a unique view of the Belgian artistic scene of the time. The loan of thirty-one modern Belgian works of art donated to the Musée de Grenoble in 1927 was supplemented by loans from various private collections and numerous Belgian and French museums.
