For as long as I can remember, I have always been fascinated by programming. Throughout my adolescence, I grew up playing video games, such as Super Mario Brothers on the Wii. Simply seeing the characters hop across my screen made me curious about the mechanics behind the screen. What caused the character to jump? How does it know to go forward when I press a certain arrow? My budding curiosity flourished when I went to high school, exploring my first Intro to Programming course. Quickly adapting to learning new languages, I was able to acquire a first-place prize for creative coding and eventually advanced to an AP computer science course in the following year. Having the ability to write my own computer programs and use coding to solve complex problems was an incredibly empowering and rewarding experience for me. I am enthusiastic about utilizing my skills in a software engineering role and looking forward to exploring the diverse range of opportunities within the field.
