Within the division of Student Success, the Manager of Student Retention and Career Services provides college-wide leadership to improve retention efforts as well as increase career preparation and opportunities for interested students.Simplicity Implementation Graduation (05/04/21): lit-csm

1. Piloted the fusion of two existing CC programs (Learning Communities and Freshmen Interest Groups) into a new initiative: the Cardinal Communities (CCs). Branded the CCs and scaled up the program from 6 to 52 communities. Launched the program in Fall 2017.2. Maintains assessment and accountability data for external review.3. Manages budget resource allocation.4. Responsibility for CC related programs or initiatives, including organization, student and faculty recruitment, budgetary decisions, advertising and assessment.5. Researches learning and development best practices to identify information required to the development of the Cardinal Communities (CC).6. Develops, delivers, and assesses programming to assist CC faculty members in the design, development, and modification of course content to fit CC requirements.7. Collaborates with Residence Hall, the Director of Financial Aid and the Undergraduate Advising Center to pilot a Living Learning Cardinal Communities dedicated to scholar recipients.8. Offer guidance in customizing the CCs to new department for Fall 2018 (launched a Sophomore Business Community), and in Spring 2018 (College of Education).9. Provides professional development for CC faculty and staff mentors as well as student staff.10. Supervises and manages 54 student workers as well as two graduate assistants.11. Fosters a collaborative, collegial working environment.12. Serves as the STARS Services Director in his/her absence.

Teach American History Survey - Online

Planed and implemented student retention initiatives including 10 Learning Communities (LCs) and the RedTalks program. Managed a team of 18 peer mentors as well as one graduate assistant.Responsible for budget management.Re-branded the Academic Enhancement Workshop into RedTalks by redefining the format of hour-long workshop in shorter and student-lead or interactive workshop (Fall 2016). Planned a marketing campaign in collaborating in the creation of a promotional video with our Media & Communication Department, as well as redesigning of the RedTalks website with the assistance of our Web Designer.Solidified the LC - a 14 year old mentoring program by increasing students membership and assisting in developing two new major based communities (Fall 2015) as well as increasing our team efficiency by reinforcing and redesigning staff development.Collaborated with academic and student service departments to identify student populations in need of academic support and develop programs accordingly.

Supervised and trained advisors for TSI compliance, registration requirements, and accurate course enrollment. Maintained the TSI database by programming the Student Information System, analyzing reports, running hold programs and audition student compliance statuses.Ensured institutional compliance with all THECB regulations and requirements regarding TSI/college readiness laws, mandates and rules.

Lead advisor within the Engineering Undergraduate Advising Center (UAC) pole.Liaised and coordinated advising efforts of the UAC and various academic departments on campus.Facilitated and presented instructional information to over three hundred students per semester. Developed successful strategies and implemented educational plans to insure students’ academic success. Managed, coordinated, and delivered presentations to large and small groups of varying skill levels.Remained up to date and followed all F.E.R.P.A (Federal Education Right to Privacy Act) regulations. Responsible for the input and evaluation of test scores and transcripts into Banner student information system.

Educational assessment specialist responsible for organizing and entering assessment data submitted to the university assessment database, cataloging and scanning SACS (Southern Associations of Colleges and Schools) documented into the SACS database, monitoring University websites for compliance with university policy, and communicating findings to the appropriate staff and content owners, evaluating and posting materials to the SACS website, including performing file format conversions, and manipulation of pdf files. Edited and designed (InDesign) the university ACES program, and the ACES survey. Served on the University Institutional Effectiveness Committee and conducted with Dr. Tom Matthews a project on critical thinking.
